Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Pedagogical Formation Training Program will be conducted in accordance with the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on 03 January 2023.
Within this framework, the program will begin in the Spring Semester of the 2022–2023 Academic Year with students who are currently in the graduation phase of their undergraduate programs. (Planning for other students is ongoing, and the necessary announcements will be made during the spring semester.)
Students who will participate in the Pedagogical Formation Training Program in the Spring Semester of the 2022–2023 Academic Year are required to take the following points into consideration:
The Pedagogical Formation Training Program will be implemented for the fields listed in the annex of the “Teaching Fields, Appointment and Teaching Principles” dated 20 February 2014 and numbered 9, issued by the Board of Education and Discipline of the Ministry of National Education (MEB).
The Pedagogical Formation Training Program to be initiated in the spring semester will apply to students who are in the graduation phase of their undergraduate programs.
The training program that will start in the spring semester will be completed by the end of the Fall Semester of the 2023–2024 Academic Year. In this context, summer school implementation is also planned in order to ensure the timely completion of the program.
The spring semester education will consist of three theoretical courses delivered online, and the Teaching Practice course will be conducted in the Fall Semester of the 2023–2024 Academic Year.
The Teaching Practice will be carried out in Samsun at schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. (Note: Although highly unlikely, if there is an insufficient number of mentor teachers in a specific field, the relevant candidates may be required to complete the Teaching Practice course in another city.)
